A Combination on The X-pole

Hello!
I can do many tricks on a static pole. But when I'm trying to do the same things on the X-pole it seems like I can do nothing at all :( I mean that even though I know some ways how to slow the spinning down & how to speed it up this is still out of control.
Unfortunately at the moment I can not download the video of the combination, so I'll try to describe it.
The combination begins with the front-hook spin, but the non-hooked leg is straightened. Then you put your second hand on the pole so that you're able to perform the shoulder mount. Then you pick your body up through the shoulder mount and fix it in the gemini (outside leg hang) position. And do not forget - all that time you were spinning!
Ok. That might be like that if only I could control the speed of my spinning. The PROBLEM is that as soon as I pick myself up the speed becomes incredibly crazy. So I neither can fix the gemini, nor even I can dismount. I have a terrible dizziness and I fall on the floor.
Another PROBLEM with the X-pole is that I can not grip my hands properly on it - seems like they're slipping all the time, but they're not actually.
And the most difficult about the X-pole for me is the grip that we use while performing carousel spin.
Please, could you advise me something, because I have no idea of how to grip properly on the X-pole or how to control the speed, or may be I have the wrong pole and it spins too fast?
Please, help me to struggle these PROBLEMS.
Thank you!
